Agility

I joined Agility as the company’s first product designer and spent six years helping shape the product as it grew from an early-stage startup into a venture-backed enterprise AI platform. Along the way I built the design practice, led a small team of designers and a product manager, and ultimately remained deeply hands-on, owning the product experience across the platform.

OVERVIEW

Building the product—and the design organization—behind a $10M Series A AI company.

When I joined Agility, there wasn’t a design team—just a complex product solving equally complex problems. Over the next six years I became responsible for nearly every aspect of the product experience. I partnered directly with founders, product managers, engineers, sales, customer success, and customers to transform enterprise advertising software into a platform that felt approachable, scalable, and increasingly AI-native. As the company grew, I built and led a small design team consisting of two product designers and a product manager. Even while leading the team, I remained deeply involved in execution, designing major initiatives, building interactive prototypes, contributing production front-end code, and working closely with engineering through implementation. One of the largest initiatives I led was a complete redesign of the platform. I created Agility’s design system from the ground up, establishing reusable components, interaction patterns, and design standards that unified hundreds of screens while dramatically improving consistency and development velocity. As artificial intelligence became central to the company’s strategy, I helped define the next generation of the platform. I introduced Brand DNA—a centralized business context layer that allowed AI to better understand each customer’s brand—and designed AI-first workflows that shifted users from configuring software to collaborating with it. During my time at Agility, the company raised a $10 million Series A, grew to serve 30–40 enterprise customers, and evolved into a mature AI platform. Looking back, I’m most proud that design wasn’t treated as a layer applied at the end—it became a core part of how the company built products, communicated ideas, and earned customer trust.

Rebuilding the platform from the ground up.

As Agility matured, I led a complete redesign that established a scalable design system and unified the product across hundreds of screens. The goal wasn’t simply to modernize the interface—it was to create a foundation the company could build on for years.

Building the system behind the product.

I created Agility’s design system from scratch, defining components, patterns, and interaction standards that accelerated development, improved consistency, and made collaboration between design and engineering dramatically more efficient.

Designing for an AI-first future.

As AI became the core of the platform, I helped rethink enterprise marketing software around conversation instead of configuration. I introduced Brand DNA as a persistent business context layer and designed AI-native workflows that made complex marketing intelligence feel significantly more intuitive.
